On 17 September 2026, students from India and Japan came together for an engaging exchange on individual AI literacy and responsible AI use, connecting the Japanese Student Community facilitated through NICT, Japan, with the Indian Student Community, the India chapter of the Commonwealth Student Community for AI Governance, facilitated through COL-CEMCA.

The winners of the National Reading Mission 2026 through Community Radio (NRMCR 2026) have been announced, recognising efforts by Community Radio Stations across India to promote reading, lifelong learning and knowledge sharing at the grassroots.

A joint initiative of the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (COL-CEMCA), the P.N. Panicker Foundation and the Community Radio Association (CRA), the mission was organised under the theme “Read & Grow: Reading, Learning and Knowledge Sharing through Community Radio Stations.”

On 24 August 2026, Commonwealth of Learning-Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (COL-CEMCA) convened an Expert Consultation on the Review of the Academic and Career Skills (Self-Assessment) Instrument (ACSI) developed in collaboration with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), to critically examine the instrument’s conceptual foundation, dimensions, and its alignment with academic, vocational and career pathways.

The Cyprus Student Cohort of the Commonwealth Student Community for AI Governance was launched through a virtual convening on 21 August 2026, bringing together students from across the country to establish a platform for student engagement on AI governance. With the launch of the Cyprus cohort over 23 commonwealth nations have joined the initiative with multiple student communities established across the commonwealth.

The Commonwealth of Learning – Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (COL-CEMCA) launched the Caribbean Multi-country Cohort of the Commonwealth Student Community for AI Governance through a virtual convening held on 20 August 2026, bringing together students from Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Belize, and Saint Vincent & the Grenadines.
