Workshop on “Development of E-Content and Facilitation for Online Learning through Moodle LMS including Mobile App”


A three-day workshop was organized by Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), Guwahati in collaboration with the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi on “Development of E-Content and Facilitation for Online Learning through Moodle LMS including Mobile App” held at NIRD & PR, Khanapara, Guwahati on 21-23 February, 2020. The workshop was conducted at National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NERC), Khanapara, Guwahati. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Ashutosh Taunk, Manager Digital Enablement, Ahmedabad University. Total 23 participants (10male and 13female) from different colleges and Universities of Assam were attended the workshop as e-content developer and online facilitator.

The workshop was started from 21st February, 2020 from 10.00 a.m. The inaugural session was attended by Prof. N.N. Sarma, Director, CIQA, KKHSOU, Dr. Rahul S. Mazumdar, Dean, Academic, KKHSOU and Prof. Jatindra Kumar Deka of Computer science and Engineering, IIT, Guwahati. Prof. Jatindra Kumar Deka delivered a keynote on real sense of e-content and its related issues. He also highlighted the important points to be remembered during the e-content preparation and its delivery. 

The four quadrants of SWAYAM MOOCs, i.e. e-content, e-tutorial, discussion forum and assessment were discussed thoroughly during the workshop. The features of Moodle were also discussed in detail. The workshop was given priority on hands-on learning and practices and after learning every quadrants activity sufficient scope was provided to each participant to practice the same until s/he reached the mastery. A brief description of OER and how to use it were also discussed during the workshop. On 3rd day participants were divided in three groups and were assigned to develop their own course by designing in four quadrants. In the valedictory session all the three groups presented their courses in group and discussed their efforts in open forum. The valedictory programme was attended by Prof. N.N. Sarma, Director, CIQA, KKHSOU and Dr. Bhaba Ranjan Sarmah, CoE, KKHSOU.
