Skill Training for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)


In India, OFC (Optical Fibre Cable) connectivity is available in all State Capitals, Districts, Head Quarters and upto the Block Level. There is a plan to connect all the 2,50,000 Gram panchayats in the country by Telecom ministry and it will require adequate availability of skilled manpower to boost growth and productivity in the Telecom sector in near future.

Understanding the need CSC E-Governance Services India Limited (CSC SPV) had developed a self-paid online Optical fiber Splicer(OPS) course with support of telecom sector skill council.

Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) extended its support to CSC E-Governance Services India Limited (CSC SPV) to provide free online Skill development training & certification in Optical fiber Splicer course to 2500 Persons with Disabilities(PwD) through CSC’s skill training centres approved by SCPwD and NSKFDC. Training was conducted between November 2021 and January 2022.

This course consists of self-paced 24 hours online video tutorials and 4 hours of online live session by domain experts. Post training, assessment was conducted by empanelled agencies of electronic sector skill council.
