Six days online training program: “Virasat-The Heritage Model” for Traditional Cluster Development in Assam


Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in association with FICCI(Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry) organized 6 days online training program: “Virasat-The Heritage Model” for Traditional Cluster Development from 30th Nov to 05th Dec 2020. This workshop was designed to enhance capacity of Young Workforce and Mid-age Workforce in Pineapple food processing.

They were introduced to various concepts like:

  • Making existing models more scalable by bringing in various organizations at one platform
  • Providing a mechanism to link the entrepreneurs with the market by bringing together farmers, processors, and retailers
  • Connect the entrepreneurs with existing funding schemes and agencies who can support them for developing their enterprises
  • Digital Marketing Skills for selling their products.
  • Connecting the participants with the food processing units for enhancing their knowledge and skills in pineapple processing
  • Create an ecosystem where entrepreneurs can come together for establishing their cooperatives and self-help groups

73 participants from various parts of Assam attended the program and been certified by FICCi in association with CEMCA.

Key speaker Mr. Subhas Bhattacharjee(Former Managing Director, NERAMAC), Mr. Sanjeev Gupta (Deputy General Manager, SIDBI, Guwahati), Abhishek Choudhary (Lead Consultant -Rural Financial Inclusion Proframmes, Crisil Foundation), DT Dekatey (AGM, NABARD); Mahesh Pratap Singh (Head , Investors Relation & Social Responsibility Projects Flipkart) took various sessions in this 6 days workshop. Dr. Madhu Parhar Director, CEMCA and Mr. Saurabh Mishra, Programme Manager, CEMCA and Mrs. Veena Swarup and Ms. Upasana Maurya attended this program on behalf of FICCI.
