RPL Training & Certification program of 250 Workers in Capital Goods Sector


Capital Goods is a unique Sector that refers to industries manufacturing products that are used in the production of other products but are not incorporated into the new product. These include machine tools, industrial machinery, process plant equipment, construction & mining equipment, electrical equipment, textile machinery, printing & packaging machinery etc. This sector has huge potential as it comprises of maximum MSME industries. Manpower employed in these industries are not formally qualified. To build capacities and upgrade skills of the employees serving in manufacturing and service-related Job Roles in Capital Goods sector, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) supported Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC) for conducting an orientation and upskilling (RPL) and certification program for blue-collar employees. Training of employees were conducted in multiple batches in day and night shifts between 20 July to 30 July 2021 in premises of Jindal Steels Limited Gurugram and PR Components Ballabhgadh, Haryana.

Under this project, total 252 participants from various job roles like Fitter Mechanical Assembly, Stainless Steel Fabricator, Polisher-Machine, Operator - Conventional Turning, CNC - Turning operator, Quality Inspector - Forged, casted or Machined Components, Conventional Surface Grinding Machines/CNC Operator Grinding Machine Centre were trained, and 250 participants cleared the final assessment exam and were certified. All 252 participants received RPL Kits which consists of folders, pen and writing pad. All certified participants received monetary reward of Rs 300/- from CGSC in addition to RPL certificate.
