Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for wood workers


Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in association with Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC)organized two-days Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program in Kirti Nagar, Delhi on 11th and 12th April 2021. During the inaugural function, Mr. Rahul Mehta (CEO, FFSC) and Mr. Devesh Sharma (Head-State Engagement, FFSC) were present along with representatives of industry partners Ozone Overseas Pvt Ltd and MVS Global.

Mr. Rahul Mehta during introductory session, given overview of Furniture and Fittings Skill Council (FFSC) and Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA). He explained beneficiaries the need of RPL and how this certification will help them in recognizing their skills and will increase their wages in long run.

 

In this 2 days’ workshop, training on hardware fittings were delivered by Master Trainers of Ozone Overseas Pvt Ltd and Engineers of MVS Global on innovative tools which aids increasing production and reducing efforts.

27 carpenters attended the training on 1st day and assessment were taken by 23 carpenters.

Under this pilot project, FFSC will be conducting training and will be certify 250 wood workers till June 2021, keeping all COVID protocols in place.
