Orientation, Upskilling and Certification program for 250 Workers in Automobile Sector


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is playing an important role in addressing unemployment issue of India and ensuring skilled manpower is being absorbed by industries. To build capacities and upgrade skills for work of employees serving in manufacturing, service and sales related job roles in automobile sector, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) supported Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) for conducting an orientation and upskilling and certification program for blue-collar employees. Multiple 2-days workshops were organized between 20 June to 30 July 2021 in premises of Sigma Moulds & Stampings Private Limited (Gurgaon) and Victora Automotive (P) Ltd (Faridabad and Haridwar) to train their employees.

Under this project, total 250 participants from various job roles like Maintenance Technician, Tool Room operator, Press Shop Operator, Welding Technician, Press Shop Operator, Welding Technician, QC Inspector and CNC Operators were trained and 220 were certified. All 250 participants received RPL Kits which contain CEMCA & ASDC logo RPL T-shirts, Caps, folders, pen and writing pad. Out of 250 participants 220 successfully cleared assessment exam and have been certified. All certified participants also received monetary reward of Rs 300/- from ASDC in addition to RPL certificate.
