Online Workshop on Technology to Reach and Teach the Learners for UOU, India,Sri Lanka, Bangladesh


CEMCA in collaboration with Uttarakhand Open University (UOU), Haldwani organised a five-day Online Workshop on “Technology to Reach and Teach the Learners” from 21-25 May 2020 for the participants from UOU, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

During the Inaugural session Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi welcomed all the participants and dignitaries. Prof Madhu Parhar Director-CEMCA, Prof Durgesh Pant UOU, Prof OPS Negi, VC-UOU addressed the participants.

Prof DP Singh, Chairman UGC graced the inaugural session through his video message and best wishes.

At the end of the inaugural Dr. Jeetendra Pande proposed the formal vote of thanks.

The first day business session started with Dr. Ashish Kumar Awadhiya from IGNOU on "Getting Started with Google Apps'. He introduced the participants to Google Drive, Docs, Sharing of documents, Google Groups and Google Form/Quiz.

Mr. Ajith Kumar C, from IGNOU oriented the participants about an online LMS-Google Classroom and shared steps of creating google classroom, sharing materials and conducting online classes using Google classroom through both the mediums i.e. gmail account and Gsuite.

The expert for the third day workshop was Dr. Nisha Singh, Dy. Director, COE,IGNOU. She focused on creation of e-resources using FOSS tools like Cmap and Freemind for concept map and mind map, creation of Video using various online and offline screen casting tools and at the end creation of quiz was shown using Hot Potatoes.

The focus of fourth day session was on OER for teaching and learning. Prof Mostafa Azad Kamal, BOU, Bangladesh was the expert for the session. His major focus area was introduction to OER and searching for OER.

Last day of the workshop covered Communicating content through social media. The session was taken by Mr. Ajith Kumar C and he started with the introduction to social media tools for teaching, and sharing educational content through social media

During the Valedictory session on day five Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi invited one participant each from three countries for their feedback. Prof. Abdul Mannan VC Hamdard University, Bangladesh and Prof Durgesh Pant Convener of the workshop from UOU also shared their feedback and addressed the participants on this 5 days programme. Prof Madhu Parhar Director-CEMCA, concluded the workshop with the takeaway points from the workshop for all the members and wishes for Eid to everyone. At the end Dr. Jeetendra Pande proposed the formal vote of thanks.
