Online workshop on "Electric Vehicle and Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (RAC)" organized for vocational trainers from Sri Lanka


Sri Lanka is aiming for net zero carbon by 2050 which is increasing demand of EV automobiles day by day and its tropical hot weather pushing sale and servicing of refrigerators and ACs exponentially. Sri Lankan industry is experiencing surge in demand of experienced workforce in EV repair and manufacturing and same in refrigeration and Air Conditioning and facing scarcity of same.

Understanding the skillgap of trained workforce and need of upskilling the vocational trainers in Sri Lanka, CEMCA collaborated with Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), Govt of Sri Lanka and Wayamba Technical College for conducting online training of trainers program for vocational trainers in Sri Lanka.

CEMCA organized two Online workshops on Electric Vehicle (EV) and Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning (RAC) and Teaching Methodology for vocational trainers from Sri Lanka in Sep 2021. 448 vocational trainers from various government and private technical colleges from Sri Lanka attended this program. Team of experienced technical trainers were engaged from automobile and RAC department of Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU), Jaipur for conducting these workshops and feedback of participants were encouraging and they actively participated in the training program.

Both Workshops were inaugrated by Dr. K. A. Lalithadheera, Director General TVEC and Dr. J.A.D.J. Jayalath DDG TVEC, Sri Lanka in presence of officals from CEMCA and WTC.

CEMCA will continue the upskilling momentum in Sri Lanka with advanced EV technology workshop in month of October 2021.
