Online Capacity Building Programme on “ Online Learning Facilitation” for teachers and teacher educators of Maldives with National Institute of Education, Maldives


CEMCA  organised a three day Online Capacity building programme on “ Online Learning Facilitation” for teachers and teacher educators of Maldives with National Institute of Education, Maldives from 8-10 September 2020. During the inauguration of the programme Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi , SPO-CEMCA gave the welcome address. Prof. Madhu Parhar emphasised on the need of the programme and gave a brief overview of education system of Maldives. Dr. Abdulla Rasheed, State Minister of Education, Maldives appreciated the timely planning of the programme and motivated the participants for taking full benefit from this capacity building programme. He further expressed his interest to collaborate with CEMCA. Dr. Hussian Majid, NIE Maldives also welcomed all the participants and thanked all the members involved in the planning of the programme.

Before moving into the technical session, Prof. Parhar enlightened about some major concepts to be covered during the programme. Prof Santosh Panda, IGNOU, was the expert on the first day , and  gave an enriching presentation on Instructional Design for Online Learning.Technical session of day two was  on the  LMS - Google Classroom. Dr. G Mythili - IGNOU  demonstrated  Google Classroom and various G-Suite Tools. On third  day of the programme Dr. Mythili focused on Canvas--  an open source Learning Management System.  She answered all the queries of  the teachers

Prof. Madhu Parhar and Dr. Hussain Majid thanked   the teachers  and the experts. 560 teachers and teacher educators  participated in the programme.
