Online Capacity Building of KKHSOU Academic Counsellors


CEMCA organised a three day "Online Capacity Building workshop of KKHSOU Academic Counsellors" at in collaboration with Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), Guwahati, India from 16-18 June 2020. Dr. Dibyajyoti Mahanta, Dean, Study Centre of KKHSOU gave the overview of the workshop.

Prof. Pranab Saikia , Convener of the workshop presented an overview of the workshop. Dr. Pranab Saikia, Associate Professor of Education, KKHSOU gave the overview of Academic Counselling at KKHSOU with survey-based research findings. Prof Madhu Parhar, Director, CEMCA welcome all the participants of the workshop. Prof. Madhu Parhar, Director, CEMCA conducted a sessions on the topic -Changing Scenario in ODL; Distance Learners in 21st century and Effective Use of SLM in Counselling on the first day of the workshop i.e. 16th June 2020. The next two days,Further, the workshop was covered the topics: Technology Integration by Academic Counsellors; Role of Counsellors in Assessment; and Assessment Tools for Academic Counsellors. All the sessions conducted with live demonstration by Dr. Nisha Singh and Mr Ashish Awadhiya who were the resource persons. Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Sr. Programme Officer (Education) coordinatinged and facilitating the workshop. Around 200 Academic Counsellors from allover of Assam participated in the workshop.

The workshop was attended by 265 (201 Male and 64 Female) of Academic Counsellors of KKHSOU from 28 districts of Assam. In the valedictory session of the workshop was participated by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of KKHSOU Prof. Kandarpa Das and Prof. Madhu Parhar, Director, CEMCA, New Delhi. Both expressed their satisfaction on successful conduct of the workshop and complimented all the participants for their active present and interaction.
