New Delhi: 26/07/2013: Enabling Media Access to Communities Self Expression, a two year project supported by Ford Foundation which also ran the CEMCA Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CCFC) draws to a close in August 2013. With a view to share the project experiences, outcomes and lessons learnt  with the stake-holders in the  sector,  CEMCA is organising a  one -day Consultative Workshop  that will bring together senior officials from the  Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB);  Community Radio experts, funding agencies, and practitioners, to share and deliberate on the lessons learnt in the two years of intense engagement with the sector by way of facilitating new applicants through the licence process, as well as  encouraging  operational CRS to adopt good practices and assess their operations. The workshop is expected to identify the gap areas in the sector that need further augmentation by the stake-holders of Community Radio, and assist in improving understanding about sustainable operation of Community Radio both for new entrants and existing stations.
