New Delhi, 21/12/2012: As part of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s  (MIB)  efforts to increase the number of Community Radio Stations(CRS)  in India, CEMCA has been  engaged to hold consultations across the country over the past few years . The next Community Radio Awareness workshop will be held at Orchha, Madhya Pradesh from December 26-28, 2012. Over three days, about 40 new and potential applicants of community radio from Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will have an opportunity to meet and interact with officials of MIB and other concerned Ministries to   learn in detail about the licensing procedures and policy guidelines, and learn first-hand accounts from operational CRS and also see Radio Bundelkhand -- the local partners for the event. The twin objectives of the workshop are to create awareness about community radio and encourage more communities to take advantage of the enabling policy provisions in India.
