Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in association with Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU Jaipur) is organizing a series of 5 days online workshops on “Effective Online Teaching, Assessment and Communication Skill” for faculties. Under these workshops more than 300 participants will be trained in month of May and June 2021. 900 faculties across 5 countries including India have applied for this program.

Inauguration of the event was held on 10th May 2021 where 980 participants attended the program online on zoom and facebook live. Dr. Madhu Parhar (Director CEMCA), Mr. Saurabh Mishra (Programme Officer, CEMCA), Dr. Achintya Choudhury (President, BSDU Jaipur) were guest of honour for the event. Dr Veena Kumar (Professor, University of Maryland, USA) was the keynote speaker for the event.

During her opening speech, Dr Madhu Parhar gave emphasis on how online platforms became integral part of our professional and personal life and with no option left, all have learned to use it in last 1 year. She said, teaching and training in new normal require understanding of various features of online meeting platforms, use of various assessment tools to take exams online and effective communication skill to engage the class and this is main objective this capacity building program.

Dr. Achintya Choudhury (President, BSDU Jaipur) in his welcome speech, also addressed the need of effective online teaching skill to overcome communication and online class engagement barriers. He also welcomed Dr. Veena Kumar and shared his interaction with her during his PhD in IIT Delhi.

Keynote Speaker Dr. Veena Kumar in her 90 minutes session presented the overview of evolution in teaching techniques in last several decades through various examples. She emphasized on adopting to the changing trends, so that every teaching professional can teach effectively and engage their class efficiently.

From 11th May, 5 days capacity building program will commence in batches of 30-35 participants and continue till 22nd June 2021.
