CEMCA under its Higher Education Initiative organised an Online Training on "Let's Learn Chatbot" on August 27, 2020


The expert of the training was Dr Rajeev Tyagi, who initiated his session by talking about the use of Chatbot and later demonstrated the process of creating a Chatbot.

He said that Chatbot is an application of Artificial Intelligence to simplify the conversation between Human Beings and Computer. It is used by Banks, Hospitals, eCommerce Industry, Educational Institutions etc. He demonstrated a virtual assistant bot Alexa which is a known example of AI and it could be easily used by a child also to get the answers for their queries.

He mentioned that there are several options available for creating chatbot. He focused on IBM Watson Assistant for creating a basic chatbot. He not only stepwise demonstrated the process of creating chatbot but also guided learners for their practice.

He told that use of Chatbot in education system can enhance the engagement of students. The Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) template may be created for the examination. The classroom and semester assignments related material may be designed as per the requirement.

42 participants from schools, colleges and universities attended the training. The session was appreciated by the participants. At the end Dr. Rajeev Tyagi responded to the questions of the participants. An eleven-year girl also actively participated in the training along with her parent and shared her experience.
