CEMCA Offered a MOOC on Life Skills for Engineers Level I (3rd Cycle) 2021


Third cycle of Life Skills of Engineers Level I MOOC was launched and offered during March-April 2021. During this six weeks MOOC live session with instructors were conducted in each week and course participants joined and raised pertinent questions at the end of each session. The course was designed and developed by highly experienced academics and Industry practitioners and along with them the domain experts extended the mentoring support. They called as course team: The members of the team are experts of Engineering and Life Skills and come from different universities, institutions and from field. The team members are Prof. I. Ramabrahmam, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Odisha; Prof. C. Muralikrishna, Dept. of English, Osmania University; Prof. Sunita Mishra, CELS, University of Hyderabad; Dr. G. Padmaja, Centre for Health Psychology, University of Hyderabad, and Mr. Attaluri Viswanath Industry Expert. Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Senior Programme Officer (Education), Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia has coordinated the complete course from its initiation to offer the Cycle 3. The registrations to the course were from across the globe having most learners from India. A total of 2654 learners from 58 countries registered and participated in the course. It was found that 2149 learners were from India and the remaining approximately 500 participants were from 58 countries. From India also the participants were scattered throughout India. All the participants of the course participated actively in the learning process visiting all video contents, eTexts, and also participated in the discussion forums along with evaluation process. Participants created 1600 new discussion forums and 3642 comments were posted in the already created forums. The successful participants awarded with two types of certificates i.e. Participation certificate and Competency certificate as per their level of achievement.
