CEMCA Collaborated with RIE-Bhubaneswar for International Conference on Education in the 21st Century (ICE21C)


"International Conference on Education in the 21st Century (ICE21C)" organised by the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar (constituent of NCERT; National Council of Educational Research and Training in collaboration with CEMCA and UNICEF during 21-23 February 2020 at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. In this, CEMCA conducted two events: panel discussion on Teachers Professional development through Technology and workshop on framework for eContent development. 

Prof. Vasudha Kamant, former VC, SNDT University, Mumbai delivered a Keynote Address at the "International Conference on Education in the 21st Century (ICE21C)". She spoke on "Developing Future ready Learners, Educators and Institutions". Prof. S. M. Patnayak, Vice Chancellor, Utkal University was the Chief Guest of the programme. Prof. Vasudha Kamant, former VC, SNDT University, Mumbai delivered the keynote address on Developing future leaders, education and institution. Dr. Monika Nielsen, UNICEF, Dr. Lalita Pattnayak, UNICEF, Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, CEMCA, Prof. P C Agarwal, Principal, RIE-Bhubaneswar, NCERT, Prof. B N Panda, Dean Research, RIE-Bhubaneswar, NCERT, Prof. Gowramma IP, Head, Department of Education, RIE-Bhubaneswar, NCERT were addressed in the inauguration programme.

Dr. Panigrahi of CEMCA moderated the panel discussion on 'Teachers Professional Development through Technology'. The CEMCA partners from Bangladesh Open University (BOU), Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU), University of Hyderabad (UoH), and Uttarakhand Open University (UOU)were panellist. The panellists discussed about CEMCA project intervention and its outputs and outcomes achieved including challenges faced. During this panel discussion around 125 conference delegates participated and raised different issues on teachers professional development and capacity building. The project modalities were appreciated by the delegates.

Dr. Panigrahi also coordinated a workshop on Framework and Guidelines for Quality e-Content Development. The framework and guidelines was developed with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India in different format (Text and Video). Dr. Shyamal Kumar Das Mandal and Dr. Kaushal Kumar Bhagat from Centre for Educational Technology, IIT Kharagpur, India facilitated the workshop. 

Both the activities of CEMCA, were highly appreciated by the conference participants and created a learning environment. The collaboration given a wider platform for CEMCA's visibility. Various print media covered the news of this conference and highlighted the CEMCA name.
