Capacity Building workshop on Development of MOOC's for ODL Learners at Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat

A three day Online Capacity Building Workshop on “Development of MOOCs for ODL Learners” for Teaching and Academic Staff of Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Ahmedabad was organised by CEMCA from 18th -20th May 2020.

Prof Madhu Parhar, Director- CEMCA and Prof Ami U Upadhyay, VC- BAOU addressed the participants during inaugural session. Dr. Nisha Singh and Dr. G. Mythili from IGNOU, New Delhi oriented the participants about MOOCs, SWAYAM Portal and Moodle platform on first day of the workshop.

The business sessions dealt with 4 quadrant approach for developing MOOCs, Instructional Design model, working with online Moodle and video content creation using various online and offline screencasting tools. All the participants were assigned practical work using the applications explained during the session.

A whatsapp group was created for discussion with experts during asynchronous practice sessions and submission of assignments.

During the closing session Prof Parhar concluded the session while motivating the participants for using technology and improving the engagement with learners though online platforms in ODL system. At the end Dr Jainee Shah presented the formal vote of thanks.
