Call for Expression of Interest for Peer Review of Community Radio Stations

New Delhi, 18/11/2014: Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi calls for Expression of Interest from the Community Radio stations of India for Peer Review using the Community Radio Continuous Improvement Toolkit (CR-CIT). In the financial year 2014-15, CEMCA will provide assistance to 10 Community Radio stations.

The UNESCO Chair on Community Media (UCCM), with support from Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), New Delhi, conducted a workshop in Hyderabad from October 8 to 10, 2014 aimed at building the capacities of Peer Reviewers in using the Community Radio-Continuous Improvement Toolkit (CR-CIT), Version 2.0.  The Toolkit, developed by the UCCM and already distributed to all the CR stations in India, has been designed to assist Community Radio stations in undertaking periodic self-assessment of their performance and take necessary steps to improve their engagements and overall performance in the communities they serve.

CEMCA and the UCCM are going to conduct another workshop from November 26 to 28, 2014 after which a list of trained Peer Reviewers will be published on the websites of both CEMCA and the UCCM.

The aim of this assistance is to help the Community Radio stations to assess themselves using CR-CIT with the help of certified peer reviewers.  The deadline to submit the Expression of Interest by the Community Radio Stations is December 25, 2014. For details, please visit CEMCA website.
