Build Capacity of DIET Teachers of Bihar for Implementation of Blended Learning in Teacher Education


CEMCA supporting MGCU for implementation of blended learning in Bihar, building capacity of the teachers. In this regard, two training programmes organized for MGCU teacher and Hinger Education teachers of the Bihar state. The 3 rd Capacity Building Programme begins with the inaugural sessions on Implementation of Blended Learning in DIETs Bihar were held from 7 th to 11 th March 2021. For this program total 294 participants were registered out of in which 224 participants (157 Male and 137 Female) from different DIETs, Teachers, and Research Scholars of Bihar were participated. The program begins with the introductory remarks by the Prof. Asheesh Srivastava, Head and Dean, School of Education, MGCU Bihar. He mentioned that NEP 2020 recommended increasing the GER and for that we need the blended mode of learning. Prof. Madhu Parhar, Director, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia, New Delhi described on the terms ‘Blend’ and ‘Blended Learning’ in relation to comprehensive and holistic map. Prof. Gyandeo Mani Tripathi emphasized on the situations and conditions of Bihar DIETs. Major Harsh Kumar from NCERT said that the aim of education is to development of the attitude. He said that we need to promote blended learning and need to continue the habits of reading, writing, and speaking skills among teachers with equipping them technologically. Prof. G. Gopal Reddy, Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, MGCU Said that it is a great opportunities for all the teachers this program is very much necessary for all of us for updated the knowledge of our teacher’s proper implementation of NEP 2020.

The five days capacity building workshop comprising esteemed resources persons (Dr. Pranita Gopal, Dr. Mary Vineetha Thomas, Prof. Seema Dhawan, Prof. K. Srinivas and Dr. Madhusudan JV) from different institutions in India in which the pedagogy of workshop which covered: ‘ICT tools in Teaching Learning’ Google tools including use of YouTube channel, use of ppt, creation of audio and video contents, creating learner centric video lectures. Open Educational Resources (OER) and their relevance, Interactive presentation tools and assessment tools. Designing and developing blended learning lessons, synchronous and asynchronous learning environment, LMS, MOOCs. All participants were engaged with various online activities supported by the resource persons.

The CEMCA Representative Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi, Prof. Asheesh Srivastava, Dean, School of Education, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Dr. Rashmi Srivastava, Dr. Manisha Rani, Dr. Pathloth Omkar, Research Scholars and Students of School of Education were present in the program.
