Adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) at UPRTOU, Uttar Pradesh


CEMCA is supporting U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Uttar Pradesh to adopt Open Educational Resources (OER) through implementation of institutional policy. An online capacity building programme for the university teachers, academic counsellors, study centre coordinators and leaders was organised from 17-19 January 2022 both in synchronous and asynchronous mode. U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University adopted and implemented OER policy in 2016 with the help of CEMCA. Vice Chancellor Prof. Seema Singh in her address encouraged the faculty members to use and create OER in developing learning material. She also requested CEMCA to sign an MOU for seeking support on OER, ICT and Online, Blended Learning. Total 202 (167 Male and 35 Female) participated in the workshop to learn about OER and its creation. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. G Mythili from IGNOU and Dr. Manas Ranjan Panigrahi from CEMCA.

The workshop covers historical prospective of OER, COL initiatives on OER, Creative Common Licences, Searching and Creating of OER, etc. Participants also explored about the availability of OER in regional language and engaged in creating OER in Hindi using available OER in different languages. The institutional policy also discussed among the participants and policy makers of the university during the workshop. At the end, the university stakeholders agreed for revision in the policy and development of OER repository at institutional level.
