9th Community Radio Video Challenge


On April 13th, 2022 Award Ceremony was held in the India International Centre, New Delhi for the 9th edition of Community Radio Video Challenge (CRVC). The theme for CRVC 2022 was “Climate Action: Climate Change for Sustainable Development” with an objective of engaging Indian youth with community radio (CR), creating awareness, and fostering an understanding of CR’s importance for the self-expression, learning and development of local communities.

The Chief Guest of the function , Shri Sanjiv Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, New Delhi appreciated the award winning entries and congratulated the participants. He spoke about the efforts made by Ministry to smoothen the procedure to establish the community radio. He emphasized on the training of officials of newly established CRS and informed that Ministry has selected some functional CRS as lead CRS to sensitize the aspirational institutions/organisation in setting up of the new CRS. Cash prizes and mementoes were given to winners. Award function was graced by Prof. K. G. Suresh, Vice Chancellor of MCNUJC, Bhopal, Mr. Hezekiel Dlamini, Advisor Information and Communications, UNESCO New Delhi, and Prof. Ashok Ogra from Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication .

Speakers emphasised the importance of Community Radios to reach out to community in languages and formats that suit the specific community.

Activity was coordinated by Monica Sharma and Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. T. K. Kaul, Head Admin & Finance, CEMCA.

CEMCA also organised a workshop on Documentary Film Making on April 12 , 2022 at New Delhi for the award winners and other students.
