MEDIA LIBRARY MANAGER (PRODUCT OVERVIEW ):

Medlib (Media Library Manager) product is developed to simplify management of Audio-Video resources at media libraries. In today's age a librarian has to handle multiple responsibilities of not only to keeping track of the library stock but also satisfy the library members and general users by helping them to trace down the item of their interest . It is almost impossible to efficiently manage the library resources in a manual system .

With the use of MEDLIB, a librarian will be able work efficiently and hence increase the productivity of the system . MEDLIB provides all the tools to librarian to be able to manage the library sitting on his desktop.

Installation Procedure

Taking into consideration the library processes and inputs, the product comprises of six major modules namely

 

 

 

INPUTS :

This takes care of all the inputs involved in the media library .

LIBRARY TRANSACTIONS :

This takes care of the library transactions i.e issue of an item from the library and return of an item back into the library.

SEARCH /REPORTS :

These modules allow to trace a particular item in the library depending upon the search criteria. They allow to frame the search criteria on all the possible domains. The search result can be viewed on the screen or printed through the printer .

In reports only important fields connected with the type of query are printer out where as through search option a detailed report is shown on the screen listing all the details of the item.

USER ACCOUNT :

Medlib provides security features to avoid unauthorized access to the library data. This is handled by allowing data updation access only on entering a valid username and password. New users can be created and passwords for old users can be changed through this module.

UTILITIES :

This allows the user to take backups of the library data , so that no data is lost in case of any failure through EXPORT option. Also existing data present in a DBF format or a EXCEL format can be imported into the database through IMPORT option , there by reducing mistakes generated by typing a large amount of data.
